Pénélope
When she was little, Penelope Bagieu dreamed of two careers: Queen of America or illustrator.
After having discovered that to her big surprise the United States was not a monarchy, she very sadly resigned herself to draw, night and day, to forget her cruel disappointment.
Drawing became a habit, a way of living. She began to hold a pencil in her hand all the time. And it doesn’t matter what she draws on: a receipt, a tablecloth, or a wall. They are all the same. She opened her eyes and ears: she captured everything happening everyday, the opinions and the details.
In 2002, she entered the ENSAD school (ÉCOLE NATIONALE SUPÉRIEURE DES ARTS DÉCORATIFS) in Paris, to be sure about what she was doing. After a detour at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, and a love story with animation, Penelope finally decided to launch her career in illustrating. Always with simple and sensitive drawings, and never without a touch of humour. (But, she still hasn’t forgotten her project to conquer America…!) For Orange, the question of trust has major implications. Indeed, our Group's vision of the world is based, through the very nature of its activity, on trust. By creating the possibility of dialogue and openness and allowing people to get to know one and other, by reducing distances, differences and indifference, communication is, at its core, a factor of cohesion, the development of exchanges and the strengthening of links. In this area, Orange will utilise the results of a survey of women's use of new technologies, carried out in the Orange Labs by the Usage Laboratory.
